Why I Want to Study Japanese

I wanted to learn a logographic language. And I don't want to learn Chinese because it's too mainstream. Initially, I got the interest from jRPGs, but the jRPGs aren't that good anymore since Square Enix sold out.

  1. I strongly hope the JRPGs will revive but not sure if that's even possible anymore. The online RPGs have been successful in replacing the place where the JRPGs used to occupy. But never say never. I, nonetheless, hope you enjoy learning Japanese throughout the semester.

  2. おはよ鵜サルバさんン。I share yur disdain for the decline of the JRPG. There may be a few good ones down the corner due to tenacious developers, but I agree that the golden age is over. What are some of your favorites?

  3. JRPG...かわいそう。
でもeven after the "decline" I think that is just for larger publishers. The indie / pc market still continues to push out some pretty solid new works if you are willing to dig around a bit. A not too old avant garde joy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F1cOvZ3nS8

    1. Yeah, they are there, on and off. But there's nothing as epic as things used to be in the SNES / PSX era.
